Hi Craig,
It’s been a while since I last posted, and a lot has happened since I last posted to your website. Beyond just the passage of time, which I am growing more and more convinced goes faster as we get older. I think you will come to this same conclusion as you get a little older.
I lost one of my closest friends, Richard Michael Boudreau in December last year very unexpectedly and I will not lie, this rocked my world in ways I never imagined. Rich and I grew up together in Rhode Island and we first met in 2nd grade. It is a true blessing to have friends that you go that far back with and when you lose one it is not unlike a very loud beating drum calling out the passage of time and the importance to tell those that you love how much they mean to you before that drum beat stops. I hope that you have been blessed Craig with meeting some very close friends as you travel the road of life, it is a true blessing. I continue to follow your progress at Carnegie Mellon University and from what I can see you are doing extraordinarily well in your studies, which makes me very happy for you and very proud of you. You clearly have a talent and passion for artificial intelligence and will play a role in our society’s use of this exciting new technology. In a short amount of time, you will be graduating and pursuing a career in your chosen field, and that is where the real adventure will begin. I do LOVE you Craig and I am here and will be here to help you as you embark on that adventure.
I have tried to call you and text you a few times this past year but clearly you still are not ready to talk. I will keep trying. As an internet and technology professional, undoubtedly you already know where and how to find me when you are ready. Until that time, please know I think of you daily, I pray that you are healthy and happy and I also pray that one day we can sit down and have a long talk and find some common ground upon which to form an adult relationship. This past year I purchased a now ancient Xbox game set and some of the old Lego Star Wars games and I think of the time when you were much younger when we both used to play those games together and have fun.
By the time you read this we will have elected a new President in the US and while I suspect you have not gotten too involved in politics, I think it can be said of ALL things – do not always trust what people say, investigate the matter on your own and form your own conclusions.
